May 25, 2026

An engaging session on data sharing within the industry was held at the Marina Bay Sands, during the International Built Environment Week (IBEW) on September 3, 2025.

It underscored the importance of a single point of connectivity for seamless and secure data sharing within the industry, and the need for a unified approach for effective and productive data transfer.

The session was anchored by Built Environment stalwarts Jefferson Wong (SGBuildex), Tessa K. (Millipede) and Andy Lu (Wee Hur Construction).

Jefferson Wong COO of DEX

Jefferson introduced SGBuildex as a national digital utility for the built environment sector. Buildex’ “connect once, connect all” model for trusted data exchange, has seen rapid uptake by main contractors, test labs and site management solution providers.
With data’s powerful analytical capabilities, adopters can experience streamlined audits, reduced rework and faster compliance.

Plugging In, Scaling Up: Improving Site Efficiency, Higher Quality Data Leads
Tessa K. Co-Founder of Millipede

Tessa spoke about how digitising essential site processes through configurable workflows that connect all processes and stakeholders within a project.
Integrating to SGBuildex eliminates the need for custom integrations, while focusing on leveraging higher-quality data results in better decision-making.

From Data Chaos to Clarity: A Contractor’s Digital Journey
Andy Lu CEO of Wee Hur Construction

Reflecting on fragmented systems, inconsistent formats and high manual effort, Andy spoke on adoption of digital tools to improve site operations, integrate systems across project stages and stakeholders, and build smarter.

With improved data capture, turnaround time is reduced, leading to man-hour and cost-savings. This enables site teams and HQ to act quickly with more accurate data.

In closure, the panel reiterated the strategic need to power trusted data exchange across the Built Environment sector in compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
